Hi All,
Now i am going out of the topic. For those Elmer users interested in shell-plate analysis; they can follow up the project by Professor O.P. Gupta(Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur).
He has a sound theoretical concepts in Finite Element Methods. Also, he has authored a book on Finite and Boundary Element Methods in Engineering.

I have succesfuly used shell solver after studing SIF from test folder.

Thank you

Jacek
Hi all, Elmer Newbie here (of course). If I may also piggy-back... I am trying to use the ShellSolver, and no matter which shell-related test sif I run, after ElmerSolver starts and parses the sif, I get the same error:

"ERROR:: DefaultInitialize: no matrix exists, cannot initialize!"

The log shows that it is successfully loading ShellSolver and ShellSolver_bulk. I do not encounter this problem with any of the other solvers I've tried.

Any ideas? thanks,
Karl

Generated mesh has something not need.

Try ElmerGrid 2 2 Mesh -autoclean

at least it drops some dimensions,... at 3d 1d,...
