Can Elmer compute a surface Radiation to a surrounding

Post by lvshasha »

I encountered a problem with comparing the result of my code with Anasys 13.0. My code is a finite elemet program computing heat transfer equation with radiation boundary. As a simple example, a hexahedron conductive element with a radiation boundary on one face is made.

Additional I am confused the treatment about the radiation load. It is given the following form in many books:

I make a derivation:

Te means the nodal temperature.
Can you tell me is it right ?

If T equals [Te], then both formulas looks the same to me.

To answer the question in the topic title; yes. See tutorial "Tutorial 1 - Radiation heat transfer" from the non-GUI tutorials.

If you can be more specific about "the result of my code", then you might get a more specific answer.

I have to admit I do not understand your problem in detail. If the physical equations are the same (I understand results from Elmer and Ansys are the same for your first case), then perhaps there is a difference in element type/order.
