units after coordinate scaling

Post by Kraut~salat »

hi all,

a basic question about the coordinate scaling capability of Elmer. Let's asume my geometry is constructed in mm, but for all my results and BCs and body forces I want to use SI units, i.e. meters. I use the coordinate scaling = 0.001 option. From that point on everything should be alright? When I get a result for pressure the unit for it will be N/mm^2 = Pa and magneti field will be A/m? Or do I still have to scale the results?

Hi,

with a geometry in mm and Coordinate Scaling = 0.001 the coordinates in ElmerSolver will be in m. So pressure is in N/m^2 = Pa, current density in A/m^2, etc.
