Hi Elmer team & users,
We are trying to build Elmer on Ubuntu 12.04 using the instructions here http://www.elmerfem.org/elmerwiki/index ... sing_Cmake ,
we are having a few problems but we have noticed that when we run elmersolver with no input files elmer reports the version is 6.1 Rev 5272 rather than version 8.?
using "git checkout devel" instruction it reports that all is up to date? Are we doing something wrong in downloading the most up to date sources?

My guess is that you tried the usually good guess: "sudo apt-get install elmer". Unfortunately this version is outdated and broken. You should try to remove it. Or perhaps you are not working in branch "devel" which is defenitely not in version 6.1.
