Installation Error Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable

Post by arepaj »

Hi all,

I had an installation problem with an error as on the attachments.
I had Elmer installed here before and I had Elmer in older versions on this system as well.
Should I expect any problems with regards to this error?
I did quick tutorial analysis of flow sheding and it run and displayed results but there is this doubt if something may go wrong in this case.

Thanks for any answers and tips.

Cheers,
apadzak

Hi,

I have the same problem. I have uninstall my old elmer 8.0.
I am afraid to uninstall microsoft mpi and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 because I have other softwares running on my windows computer.

Without the installation of the Elmer MPI everything looks fine

Best regards

Hi!

The error messages just indicate that a newer (or same) version of MS Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable and MS MPI libraries are installed. This is likely because of earlier installation of Elmer and if that is the case, these error messages should not indicate of any serious issue.

I had this issue on install, and figured it was not a problem. However, when I went to mesh a model, VC++2010 crashed and Elmer shut down.
