Hi,
For drafting sophisticated 3D geometries as required by numerical modeling techniques such as Finite Element Methods and Finite Volume Methods, one can use the FreeCAD software.

Installation of FreeCAD software
This CAD software can be installed in Ubuntu 14.04 from the Ubuntu Software Center.

• -Open "Ubuntu Software Center" and type "freecad"
  -Click the "Install" option and the software will be installed

Running the FreeCAD Software

• -Open the terminal and type

  Code: Select all

  $freecad

  -The workbench can be accessed from View-->>Workbench. In order to view the complete workbench of FreeCAD, use View-->>Workbench-->>Complete option.
  -Some important notes and illustrations about FreeCAD are provided here.
