Cannot see 'apply' button in model setup dialog window

I installed Elmer GUI in ubuntu 12.04LTS from the ubuntu software center, trying to run the fist simulation tutorial temperature field, when I enter the setup window in the model menu i can not see the buttons at the end of the window (apply, for example). Any idea how to solve this?

Ok, if I set autohide to the gnome top toolbar, then i can see a bit of the button, enough to press it
