Need help in magnetostatic analysis

Post by teofilBitron »

Hi all,

I would simulate the magnetic field in a log coil. In the attached image you could find the good results between the 2D free software FEMM and the analytical result.
Unfortunatelly, for the Elmer I found an internal magnetic flux density about 10 time higher.

In the attache the sif input file.

just a clarification:

the value in the image: 355.2428 [MA/m^3], is the value used in the sif file as body force for the coil:

... omissis ...

$ iC = 353.4457E+06 ! [A/m^3]

... omissis ...

Body Force 1
Current Density 1 = Variable coordinate
Real MATC "-iC*tx(1)/sqrt(tx(0)*tx(0)+tx(1)*tx(1))"
Current Density 2 = Variable coordinate
Real MATC "iC*tx(0)/sqrt(tx(0)*tx(0)+tx(1)*tx(1))"
Current Density 3 = 0
End

ok. I foud the mistake.
The coil current have to be done in A/m^2:

$ iC = 33.867E+06 ! [A/m^2]

Sorry...
