MGDyn: spherical magnet with homogeneous magnetization

Post by sarz »

Hi there,

I wanted to contribute with a very simple example from magnetodynamics.

Problem description: A uniformly magnetized sphere lies in a cylinder filled with air. The magnetic flux density and the magnetic field strength is computed. The solution to the magnetic field strength inside the sphere (the so called demagnetizing field) is known to be H= -1/3 * M.

Repeat the case:
- extract the attached file
spherical-magnet.tar.gz
(282.94 KiB) Downloaded 627 times
- go to the extracted directory and type

Code: Select all

 ElmerSolver
into your terminal
- a vtu file is created as a result. If you want to create an ElmerPost-file just uncomment the line which includes

Code: Select all

Post File = $filename".ep"
Attached you find a screenshot of the computed solution:

Kind regards, Stefan
