Hi Peter,
How about using the boundary names from .unv to automatically generate new variables with the same name and value 1. on the specific boundary while it is 0 everywhere else.

Re: selecting/unselecting bodies with paraview
Dear Peter,
Thx for the insight. I will try to look into it.
Do to have any suggestions regarding the posted example with storing a dummy variable for indexing the boundaries?
Thanks in advance,
Wil

Re: selecting/unselecting bodies with paraview
Good afternoon, Dear Martina, I tried to set up a model in the way you suggested.... using a dummy variable in my case 'b' to select different boundaries in Paraview. But it does not work... cant find 'b' in Paraview (only see 'potential' and 'GeometryIds'). Here my .sif file and the model as .zip H...

Re: Elmer module for Salomé
Thank you for the update.
I can offer to test whatever you provide. I could also provide small model cases, even if matthias is here the expert.
So let me know when I can help.
BR,
Wil

Re: Elmer module for Salomé
Dear Matthias, Dear Rainer, how is your project evolving? Are your scripts/modules working in salome? Edit: Hi Anil, the Plugin in git does not work under Linux yet. I will try to commit a fix this weekend. Anyway, you cannot use it for a simulation yet. Rainer has implemented most of the dialogs fr...

Re: Elmer module for Salomé
As I figured in the other forum, they try to integrate the ElmerSolver directly into FreeCAD. That would make our approach kind of obselete. No, they always (for calculix and z88) run the solver outside of Freecad and "just" create the input files for the solver and read back the results....

Re: Integrating Elmer into FreeCAD FEM workbench
I had a look at Salome. I am on a windows 7 system. I noticed there are only linux/unix installs listed. So maybe it is not so easy to get Salome to work for me. I personally work on linux but i know from colleagues that there is also a windows version of Salome. Please see under "Packages for...

Re: Elmer module for Salomé
The current project is an almost-Python-clone of the freestanding Elmer-Version (in C). It lacks the graphical mesh-part of Elmer and derives that data from the superimposed application. Meshs are created via a call to ElmerGrid. All windows and settings are created and referenced inside one single...

Re: Integrating Elmer into FreeCAD FEM workbench
This looks quite promising!! Is there a tutorial on how to achieve the multi-body mesh? No there is no specific tutorial for creating a multi-body mesh. Please see the tutorials for the FEM-Workbench in the wiki (http://freecadweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=FEM_CalculiX_Cantilever_3D, http://freecadw...
