Re: Incompatibilities with Ubuntu 9.10 - was: Gmsh problems
Hello Peter, ... So you could just fetch the ElmerGrid code by svn co https://elmerfem.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/elmerfem/trunk/elmergrid elmergrid and compile with configure & make & make install as in http://www.csc.fi/english/pages/elmer/sources. It should compile with any C-compiler. D...

Re: Incompatibilities with Ubuntu 9.10 - was: Gmsh problems
Hello Peter, The .unv support of ElmerGrid was recently updated and it might perhaps be optimal to use that directly to avoid unnecessary steps. Perhaps you could also join an .unv example exported by Salome. Of course, I am glad to do so. But again: I don't think that the problem is the import file...

Re: Incompatibilities with Ubuntu 9.10 - was: Gmsh problems
Hi Peter, thanks for your - as always - very quick response to my questions/remarks! Perhaps it would be a quick solution if these files work with ElmerGrid to compile just that. It has fever library dependencies and should compile out of the box. Hmm, but this would mean that I'd have to assign the...

Incompatibilities with Ubuntu 9.10 - was: Gmsh problems
Hello @all, some weeks ago I reported about incompatibilities of Gmsh generated meshes with a recent 5.5.0 Elmer version. After some more extensive tinkering around with CAELinux (= Ubuntu 8.04 LTS), Ubuntu 9.10, various Gmsh versions, recent Salomé-MECA direct download versions used on U 9.10, Salo...

Re: Problem reading old(?) gmsh mesh files
Hello Peter, as I said: I tested both old gmsh meshes (from a 2.2.x version) and the new mini mesh (created with gmsh 2.4.2), and they both rendered unusable when importing them into Elmer, taken from a freshly compiled trunk version. After this fussing around with (for me) untraceable content error...

Re: Problem reading old(?) gmsh mesh files
Okay, back again ... I just created a new "brick stack" mesh, from an old geo file, with gmsh 2.4.2 (geo file attached). The same fubar mesh is displayed in Elmer as previously shown. After that I completely started a net generation by gmsh anew from scrap (simplest possible tetraeder conf...

Re: Problem reading old(?) gmsh mesh files
Hello Peter, thanks for your very fast response - I had a day on alternative tasks, so I can come back to this topic just now. Last change was almost exactly one year ago (based on svn history). For example, the numbering of entities was improved when physical groups are not defined (applies to the ...

Problem reading old(?) gmsh mesh files
Hello to all, I am running into problems when reanimating Elmer after about a year of non-usage. Target system is a quad-core Ubuntu 9.04 system. I had an up and running Elmer at the end of 2008 when the same machine was still an Ubuntu 8.10. The meshes I prepared with gmsh 2.2.5, as show in the fir...
