Hello,
As the subject indicates, I would like to be able to apply a torque to a boundary of a body, but can't work out a way of doing such a thing with elmer.
Is it possible?
Thanks,
John

OK, this is what I suspected.

Displacements in Elastic solver when calculating eigenmodes
Hi all, I am currently using the elasticity solver to calculate the eigenmodes of a cantilevered beam. The Eigenvalues that are produced are reasonable. The mode shapes look the correct shape, but the didplacements given are rather large (see the attached image) given that the beam length is 0.00035...

Re: Solver unable to find FlowSolve.dll
Aha! that has sorted it Thank You. I should probably have noticed the library version part of the Solver Log.

Solver unable to find FlowSolve.dll
Hi, I have upgraded to Elmer7, using the windows binary on xp. I have been using a previous version of Elmer successfully for some time. However, I now have the following problem described in the Solver Log: ELMER SOLVER (v 7.0) STARTED AT: 2012/06/07 13:38:16 MAIN: MAIN: ===========================...

Re: Multiple isosurfaces with opacity
Peter, thankyou for your reply-I'll have a play with paraview.
Is there a reason that the above image looks so bad? some limitation on filesize or somesuch?

Multiple isosurfaces with opacity
Howdy, I would like to show my results (elmer/N-S eqn) using more than one isosurface. Each isosurface with an opacity less than 100%such that the one behind it can be seen. However, this is the result: two_isosurface_opacity.png Obviously that is not useable, is there any way to improve the quality...

Seems that we have solved the problem-it was to do with how the system was handling the memory and shifting it around during calculations...

Solver Crashes with Segmentation Fault-Large mesh file
Hi there, I'm currently having the problem that ElmerSolver crashes with a Segmentation Fault during the first iteration with the Navier Stokes Solver just after the line Flowsolve: ............90% FlowSolve: Assembly done The sif file is identical to (and should be) another simulation which has exe...

Re: Relaxation factor
Thanks for your reply!
The point you make with respect to the solution converging in the end is a good one-one that I had not really thought about.
