Paraview data range
I'm very new to ParaView and am using it for output from Elmer. I'm loading a file case001.vtu and do see the mesh structure along with a 'temperature' data label. However the data range is [0 322] which is incorrect. In other post processors the true range [322.0 349.79] is displayed. Any thoughts ...

Re: Setting up thermal transient run
Sorry for being to quick to ask on the forum; I missed that info scanning the manual. I'll read more closely. I did get my sample problem up and running. Also, thanks for the pointer to ParaView.

Setting up thermal transient run
I am having difficulty setting up a simple thermal transient run in ElmerGui. I have looked at the Tutorial that has such an example but I am still missing some points: 1. Is "Timestep Intervals" the integer # of time steps in the simulation, ie, 200 ? 2. Is "timestep sizes" the ...

Re: Multiple assemblies
I solved my problem. http://www.elmerfem.org/elmerwiki/index.php/Multiple_bodies_from_Salome_to_Elmer This process does work. One of the 5 bodies in my assembly did not have it's mating surface lined up with the adjoining body so the resulting combined mesh was not correct. That was the reason for t...

Re: Multiple assemblies
I came across a wiki page that describes Multiple bodies from Salome to Elmer on elmerfem.org. I tried using this on a simple model with two blocks and it seemed to work. My more complex model with 5 curved shapes does not converge in Elmer. Has anyone used this method? The steps are: 1. Generate *....

Re: Multiple assemblies
I am new to this so pardon my questions. If I mesh elsewhere will the mesh file have material information for the individual bodies? I picture loading on file into ElmerGui with 100,000 elements and having to manually pick & identify the different materials. Can you suggest a meshing software I ...

Re: question for connected bodys
I have a similar question and posted in another topic. I want to simulate two bodies with different materials and one having the heat source and the other the boundary condition. I have *.step files for both of these but don't know how to get them into Elmer. If I create one mesh file externaly how ...

Multiple assemblies
Hi - I'm new to Elmer and a casual user of FEA. I'd like to know how to perform steady state thermal FEA on multiple assemblies with different materials. More specificaly, can I create say 3 assemblies in 3 different step files and combine those into one model in ElmerGui? One assembly would have th...
