Other options:
1. Create a chroot and install Debian or Ubuntu there (much simpler than full virtualization).
2. Use the Debian "alien" utility to convert the .deb into an .rpm.

There is a Debian package for Elmer in unstable, with a lenny backport at: http://www.opennovation.org/debian/ .
This is also in the Wiki under Compilation and Installation.

Hello Peter, The Lagrangian approach sounds interesting, as long as the particles can provide a reasonable body force field for the fluid. It would probably take a lot of particles to do that accurately... Back to the Eulerian approach, I agree that two liquids or a solid-liquid mixture would requir...
