Re: Two same solver
Null Hypothesis (H0) contd ...: i am not sure exactly. the only thing you shall do is Use the Heat Solver only once in the Solver section. In the Equation section that follows the Solver section, you can write two equations Equation 1 and Equation 2 to call the same solver (let me name Solver 1) tw...

Re: Two same solver
Null Hypothesis (H0) : in general, i guess there is no need to number a solver two times (like solver i and solver i+1), if both are structurally same in the SIF file. if a solver has two variables, then in a given solver number, the variables would be numbered twice such as Solver 1 Equation = abc...

Re: Two same solver
Hi, i am also having the same curiosity. In my context it is free surface solver, in order to model kinematic motion of free surface with different boundary conditions and geometry. i am trying to use solvers twice . i am still to reach the conclusion whether i can assign numer for the variable to c...

Re: about keyword "flow solution"
i found a question/answer about keywords in Frequently Asked Questions section that addresses my situation in general http://www.elmerfem.org/elmerwiki/index.php/Frequently_Asked_Questions Q: I try to set a "keyword" value in the .sif file but ElmerSolver gives an error "Unknown spefi...

Re: Salome wrong body in Elmer
hi, For Elmer software to recognize different bodies, some steps such as partitioning, exploding, creating groups, creating mesh groups should be carried out in Salome software. The following posts can be helpful for these topics. Post 1: For multiple bodies in 3D http://www.elmerfem.org/elmerwiki/i...

Salome Preprocessor with Elmer: reading multiple boundaries
Hi, When exporting files from Salome preprocessor to Elmer, some steps ( partition, explode, create groups, create mesh groups) must be carried out in Salome so that Elmer can recognize different boundaries. the following post is related with this topic. http://www.elmerfem.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Query about reading the multiple boundaries in Elmer
For multiple/intersecting Faces in 2D The steps are similar to the single face. In Geometry module, the "Partition" step needs to be considered for the context of intersecting faces and this step should precede the "explode" and "create groups" steps. salome 5.1.3 Geom...

Re:Query about reading the multiple boundaries in Elmer
For the Linux OS and For the 2D Geometry Created in Salome For the single face geometry in 2D, the " Explode " function has to be used for dividing the face into the number of edges . Salome 5.1.3 Geometry Module -> New Entity ->Explode After this " Create Groups " should be use...

about keyword "flow solution"
the sif file of standard test cases has the keyword flow solution in the equation section. but when i try to run a modified sif file for free surface solver, it says the keyword Flow solution (in the equation section) is not recognized. what might be the cause of this situation? i generally refer to...

Re: 3D free surface example?
Hi Luke, you are doing this simulation for steady state condition. the model manual mentions that the free surface solver best converges for transient simulation. additionally the manual says that the solver can be technically used for steady state simulation. we would learn a lot if you would expre...
