Re: Integrating Elmer into FreeCAD FEM workbench
However, I would need to mesh mutlibody geometries in order to be able to use the FreeCAD mesh module for my simulations. It is now possible to define multibody geometries/meshes in Freecad. Please see here for some basic examples http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=18780&p=148...

Re: compile and run on Debian Jessie
Hi Bernd,
Please run the solver in the sub directory "calculix_canti".
Otherwise is the mesh defined in the header of case.sif (Mesh DB "." ".") not found.
Alternatively you can also specify the full directory-path there.

Please see:

I used the following line before starting elmer but I think this is no more necessary:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/lib/elmersolver

Re: Elmer module for Salomé
The development is going into the direction of multibody-meshing (please see http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=18471&start=60). First parts are also already in the master branch (and daily ppa). Concerning your other question regarding .unv export please see http://elmerfem.or...

Re: Integrating Elmer into FreeCAD FEM workbench
Concerning your question regarding .unv export, you simply mark the part you want to export and choose File->Export-> Choose .unv . The exported files can than be easily translated with ElmerGrid. You can already define some boundary groups by simply applying constraints (e.g. fixed boundary) and ex...

Re: Elmer module for Salomé
There is also some discussion going on regarding integrating Elmer as solver into FreeCAD. I am sure that much of Rainer's work can be reused there or be developed together. There were already solvers like Calculix or Z88 interfaced/integrated into FreeCAD. FreeCAD uses netgen and Gmsh for meshing a...

Dear Peter,
Thanks that helped regarding the static current model.
Any Ideas regarding the my last post on the first page of this post?

Re: electrical floating piece metal in an other electric field
BTW, looking at your first post, I ask myself why you don't take the static current solver for the whole geometry including air? AFAIK it can calculate the potential just as well as the electrostatic solver. Dear Matthias, Dear Peter, I tried this before but then the results are (again) always 0V i...

Re: electrical floating piece metal in an other electric field
Dear Peter, I think the flux does not have to be consistent in this case. What I try to accomplish is simply match the potentials of the electrostatics and the static-current equations/solver. I simply struggle to exchange the values for the two potentials what results in zero potential for the stat...

Re: electrical floating piece metal in an other electric field
Dear Peter, Can you please take a look at my case.sif for my model with a "dirichlet-neumann" boundary. The model is solved but in the end I get a potential of 0V at the surface of the sphere (inside air) which is wrong. It looks like my 'load calculation' is done in a wrong way. A explana...
