How to kill nodes?
Hello, from other FEA suite (the expensive commercial ones) i know functions like "kill nodes". What i want to do: I do have a bi-Metall beam (2D), which is joined at elevated temperatures and then cooled down. So at room temperatur the beam is deflected. Now (in reality) i would start gri...

Hi,
i just tested the new 4.1-Version of Paraview. And it works again.

Re: Elastic Plate VTK-Files not visible in Paraview 4
Hi Matthias, thanks for your response. I also think it is in my paraview, because on your machine it works. Paraview-Version: 4.0.1 64-bit OS: Windows 7 64-bit Elmer: 7.0 I assume something with the read-in procedure, but the strange thing is, that other vtu and vtk file created by other elmer modle...

Re: Elastic Plate VTK-Files not visible in Paraview 4
thats really strange. I already check the vtk files by hand with notepad++. But i didn't find a difference to a "linear elasticity"-model. And there it works. And also at your side it works too. But on my side: paraview color scale can not see the values. I also tried to adapt the color sc...

Re: Elastic Plate VTK-Files not visible in Paraview 4
at least on my computer, this does not help. There is no reaction when i'm pressing the "rescale" button. Also when pressing "edit", the dialog box shows "min: 0" and "max: 1" (which is not true) Also if i'm using the "data analysis" tool "plot ...

Re: Elastic Plate VTK-Files not visible in Paraview 4
Sorry for the late response - i've been on holiday. I tried vtu also but the same result. Paraview displays "nothing" (just blue surface) and shows a scale of 0 to 1. But if i look into the data cells, then paraview states the correct range. Please show attached picture. paraview_elastic_p...

Elastic Plate VTK-Files not visible in Paraview 4
Hello, last week i tried to visualize a elastic plate model result (VTK) in the latest Paraview (4.0.1). But unfortunatley Paraview cannot display the Deflection(.1-.3) anymore - the contour is depicted but the colour-code is only blue. If i go to "Bounds" in the "Information" re...

Re: splitting a surface
Hi shevablue,
what is the solution ? Can Elmer do this (and if yes: could you briefly describe the methode?)
Thanks.

Re: direction-depending boundary condition
Hi raback, thanks for the quick answer. Unfortuanetly i'm not able to use it. Could you give me a piece of Code how to use "spring"? And i'm not sure if i made my point: I want to simulate the plate deformation by use of "elastic plate solver" (Smitc). Therefore the pins (from th...

direction-depending boundary condition
Hi all, i try to simulate the deflection of an elastic plate placed on some pins. The plate is pushed to the pins by a pressure. But i'm struggeling how to put the boundary condition. At the moment i simply put Deflection 1,2 and 3 at the pin position to 0. But finally I would like to have a "s...
