Re: Question for mesh file from Gmsh

I hope this helps: I never use gmsh to create a model. I use FreeCAD and export to either a .brep or .step file. I then use gmsh to create the mesh. How does this help? I recently had the same problem as you are having. Some one ( Sorry I couldn't find the post for some reason) clued me in to the us...

Re: Running test cases (revisited)

Hi all, After reading my previous post, I realized that it was a bit misleading. I've been using Debian Linux on the command line for almost 30 years and am very conversant with shell scripts etc. I was referring to the command line with respect to Elmer only. That said, I still can't figure out how...

Re: Including a fluid around spark gap

Thanks for the reply Kevin. I am downloading Salome and will try it. As far as an example goes, I've had difficulty producing one. The only option I have been given is to use a solid sphere, embed the parts, do a boolean subtraction to produce voids and then replace the physical parts. This is messy...

Re: Advection Diffusion Solver setup

Hi all, Turns out that I inadvertently switched on the Results Solver. Switching this off solved the alternate grey .vtu frames. I'm not sure that including only one gas in the material section is correct. Both Air and Hydrogen are involved . The body's initial condition is that it is filled with Hy...

Re: Advection Diffusion Solver setup

Thanks Peter, The problem now converges. I am attaching the modified .sif file. I modified the file for time steps. The problem converges but every other time interval shows a gray tube and the other intervals show -what looks like- reasonable data. I used the Chapman-Enskog Theory to compute the Di...

Definition of Concentration Diffusivity

I'm having trouble with the setup on the Advection Diffusion Solver. I used mass concentrations through out. It insists that Concentration Diffusivity (CD) is missing. Is Concentration Diffusivity and Diffusion Coefficient the same thing. If not how do I find the CD value. I've had a pretty good bac...
