Flutter Analysis using Elmer

I am trying to swith from NASTRAN to elmer regarding structure analysis. I am wondering whether Elmer is capable of carrying out flutter analysis of aero-structures.

Is there any materials that I can refer to for this kind of analysis?

Re: Structure Analysis with both Beam and Shell elments

Thanks for testing, As an update I mention that partially nonlinear analysis can now be done with "Large Deflection = True". At the moment the beam sections can nevertheless add only linearly behaving stiffness to the combined model, so the nonlinearity arises from the shell part. -- Mika...

Re: Structure Analysis with both Beam and Shell elments

Thanks, Mika. Is there any latest update on this? I am working on marine FEM models, as you may understand, the structures that invovled both shell and beam is quite common. It would be appreciated if Elmer can be fitted with this kind of function. I used some hours for this and wrote changes to the...

Re: Structure Analysis with both Beam and Shell elments

Thanks Mika! It is very nice of you to help to look into this. When do you think you maybe able to find some time for this? An ideal implementation of the coupled shell and beam analysis would be to assemble both models to a single system which would then be solved simultaneously. Nevertheless this ...

Structure Analysis with both Beam and Shell elments

I noted there are two seperate shell and beam solvers in Elmer. i assume it should be possible to solve a structure with both shell and beam elements included, is that correct? I can just add two solvers in the .sif file, is that correct? Is there any example projects that with both shell and beam e...

Combine FEM and BEM method in acoustic simulations

Is it possible to combine FEM and BEM method in elmer for acoustic simulations? I am trying to use FEM to simulate the acoustic propagation inside some structure and then its radiation to the outside spaces?

Can i use elemer for this purpose?

Energy Finite Element Method

For the mid to high frequency acoustic analysis, it seems there is a method named EFEA. Is that possible to include this method in Elmer for acoustic calculations? This can provide an alternative method for SEA used for large structures such as ships.

Rotating Propeller Acoustic Calculation

I am trying to carry out analysis for rotating propeller noise using Elmer. Does anyone know that whether this can be done using Elmer?

I understands that this can be done using Action.

Re: [SOLVED] Comparing with Comsol: many questions for you :D

I continue to recieve the message that "WARNING:: IterSolve: Numerical Error: Too many iterations were needed. ", is there anything to worry about this?
