Re: Magnetic field induced by current in a cylindrical wire
Adding -- Scalars Prefix = String "dummy:" -- as Peter had suggested worked. Thanks!

Re: Magnetic field induced by current in a cylindrical wire
Thanks! The scaling in the z direction is 1.0e-3 and not 1.0e-4 as I originally had. This fixes the order issue. The modified version of equation 7.3 that I am using to calculate the theoretical value is: max. magnetic flux density using equation 7.3/wire length The Elmer values compare well with th...

Re: Magnetic field induced by current in a cylindrical wire
I am attempting to compare the Elmer "max. magnetic flux density e" with theoretical max. magnetic flux density (using modified version* of equation 7.3 in Elmer GUI Tutorial) for a certain wire radii and length. Two attempts listed below: Wire radius = 7.976e-05, Wire length = 0.0012678 E...

ElmerFEM coupled with Dakota, an open-source toolbox for optimization, uncertainty quantification, and parameter studies
Elmer has been coupled with Sandia Dakota, a toolbox for data analytics. More information on Sandia Dakota can be found here - - https://dakota.sandia.gov/ Capabilities: This program integrates the capabilities of Elmer FEM and Sandia Dakota. It provides a framework for multi-physics/phase simulatio...

Re: Magnetic field induced by current in a cylindrical wire
I am attempting to extract the max. joule heating. I ran my case.sif file. I get eddy current power and magnetic field strength along with max. magnetic flux density. How can I remove eddy current power and magnetic field strength from the results file? results.txt.names: Variables in columns of mat...

Re: Magnetic field induced by current in a cylindrical wire
Anil, Thank you for your response. I understand that numerical approximation and analytical solution may not be the same, but they should be close. I tried to refine the mesh based on your suggestions (modified max. H), but for whatever reason, it wouldn't go through. Please find the wire.grd and th...
