Re: Modelling thermal contact
Hi, The solver thinks you have a degenerate 3D model with no volume. For 2D analysis, node points should be placed on the xy-plane. In your case, you can alternatively change the coordinate map in case.sif as follows: Simulation ... Coordinate Mapping(3) = 2 3 1 ... End If you are using ElmerGUI, th...

Re: redraw bug
Hi, What is the model and version of your graphics card and GL renderer? This information is reported by ElmerGUIlogger at start-up. Does the same error occur if you switch desktop effects off (no Compiz)? The compositing window manager can make OpenGL applications useless depending on the graphics ...

Re: Elmer Solver doesn't generate Elmerpost input file
Hi and welcome,
I just tried running your project on two different machines, and it worked well in both cases.
Which version of ElmerGUI/ElmerSolver are you using? The lastest Windows builds can be downloaded from nic.funet.fi My tests were based on rev 4259 from yesterday.

Re: What Causes Segmentation fault after reading a file
Seems like an internal error somewhere in the Netgen engine. Difficult to say without having a closer look at the model. Anyways, since you are using Salome for geometry modeling, you might want to use it for mesh generation as well. There are some user contributed instructions for generating and ex...

Re: L3 cache or quad-core
Hi, Unfortunately there is no extensive data on Elmer's performance on different processor architechtures. Personally I have very good experiences on Phenom, the performance of which is very close to Opteron. The equation is not that simple, though. Please note that the speed-up factor of the parall...

Re: ugly mesh and remesh doesn't work
There was a small change... Could you please try the following:
- In the main window, choose View -> Cad model...
- In the cad model window, choose Model -> Preferences...
- Check "Restrict mesh size on surfaces by STL density"
- In the main window, open your stp file

Re: elmerGUI installation on Debian Lenny (1)
Hi Adam, There is a Debian package for Elmer in unstable, with a lenny backport at: http://www.opennovation.org/debian/ . This is also in the Wiki under Compilation and Installation. I'd be happy to follow up on any comments or suggestions you have for the package. I just made a clean installation o...

Re: ElmerPost - Big files Produced
Thanks for the observations.Ahmed wrote: 1- Too big compared to the same format, the smallest one has 1.2 MB
2- The shots are taken too fast and they include the drop Down menus
Should be fixed now in svn (make install && see /usr/local/bin/edf/egini.xml for screen shot quality and delay).

Hi,
The axis of revolution is y (that is, x=0).
