Re: film set to zero alters the correct result, bug?

Thanks Peter, 1) CG+none try BiCGstabl+ILU2, the accuracy error increases from 300 nodes on above 1% and from there notable diverges, pictures shows turbulence behavior as above picture. I do not think it is satisfying, but if you think that is normal or feasible, please correct me. +---------------...

Re: film set to zero alters the correct result, bug?

Hi, 1) did change the options to: Linear System Iterative Method = "CG" Linear System Preconditioning = "None" and found that accuracy of 1% is not reached nor convergence (over mesh size decrease). Test case: 1meter square between 1 Kelvin gives 1 Watt. geo file, and sif file at...

Re: How to increase accuracy?

Thanks for sharing your results, English is not my native language, maybe "check points" or "check nodes" would be a better expression. I wondered if it was a gmsh term -yes I one wonders how elmer could access this points certain points. for me has worked this for one point with...

Re: film set to zero alters the correct result, bug?

Hi Peter, Thank you very much for your response. I propose -will answer to open question marks one by one, -take some time to work on a further solution, -learn some gnuplot for better presentation of problems, -and then come back. To your questions: 1) >I don't really understand what the problem is...

Re: How to increase accuracy?

.. specialy created control points in mesh ...Paraview using "plot over line" function. - It could be a good help to get these temps. directly from Elmer into a file, "control points" aha I learn something new. -yes I one wonders how elmer could access this points certain points...

Re: film set to zero alters the correct result, bug?

edit: 2.1.16: In the meanwhile I tested convergence over mesh density and found that as well in mere heat equation (without film) the above simple validation example diverged at 10.000 nodes. So "film" might not be the culprit. (Thoughts from reading other threads: are "adiabatic"...

Re: How to increase accuracy?

Hi all, I am trying to validate Elmer for computing of thermal bridges. The first validation case is half-square according to picture below with one side heated to 20°C and others to 0°C. The temperatures in control points match with the analytical solution within 0,1K. However there is also anothe...

film set to zero alters the correct result, bug?

Hi, it tried the elmer "film" in simple heat conduction as proposed formerly while checking the result accuracy. And I wonder, if the program is going wrong. ... Solver 4 ... Variable 1 = "Temperature Loads" Operator 1 = boundary sum ... Boundary Condition 1 External Temperature ...

Re: (more, most) economic on dirty math literature

Thank you, very interesting. And a big help on how to proceed finding the literature. However, I have to admit, that I was wrong in (at least!) two aspects. 1. There is a way to download that free of charge: http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=13192#p106715 Do not know exactly which...
