Re: How to Start Using Particle Dynamics Solver
Hi Seems like a good fit. You probably need a series of solvers. You can add them up one-by-one. 1) WhitneyAVSolver and/or StatElecSolver to compute initial fields 2) MagnetoDynamicsCalcFields to get the B fields from A 3) ParticleDynamics to follow the particles Test case ParticleElstatMag is a goo...

Re: Magnetostatic pair of coils
Hi
With two times "refine by splitting" in Gmsh + this sif file I get E=2.914821108708E-007 which should be close L/2.

Re: Magnetostatic pair of coils
Hi, It seems a .step file is missing that is referred to in the .geo file. -Peter

Re: Axis Symmetric post processing
Hi, In Elmer we assume 1) Cartesian 2D x = Coordinate 1 y = Coordinate 2 2) Axially symmetric r = Coordinate 1 z = Coordinate 2 There is nothing that could go to paraview that would indicate how it should intepret them. This is the metadata for coordinates included in VTU file: <Points> <DataArray t...

Re: How to Start Using Particle Dynamics Solver
Hi There are two solvers that utilize particles: ParticleDynamics and ParticleAdvector. Here are consistency tests for the 1st one: elmeruser@elmer-VirtualBox:~/Source/elmerfem/fem/tests$ grep ParticleDynamics -r | grep Procedure ParticleElstatMag/case.sif: Procedure = "ParticleDynamics" &...

Hi
This .geo file is not collaborating with me. I get this:
Maybe you can Kevin send a .msh file for me.

Re: Magnetostatic coil in air
Hi I could not get this "two_Coils.geo" file to work with my installed Gmsh v. 4.8.4. What version are you using. Maybe you could sent a .msh file. There are two coils. Then the CoilSolver needs two Component sections to define them. The definitions in the Solver section can only be used f...

Re: Axis Symmetric post processing
Good that things got sorted out. Probably I never understood the issue. So was there a missing weight in the integration?

Re: Electric dipole. Convergence problem.
Hi Indeed, the farfield seems the get nonsymmetric with frequency. I added scanning over electric conductivity to study this. Sif attached. My guess is that when electric conductivity gets larger the outer BCs for electric scalar potential start to have their own fun. Maybe the natural BCs are not a...
