Re: 3D Magnetization for hundreds of magnets
Hello, you can do variable magnetization as well with MATC: Body Force 1 Magnetization 1 = Variable Coordinate 1, Coordinate 2, Coordinate 3 Real MATC "f(tx[0], tx[1], tx[2])" End where f(x,y,z) is the function (you need to define that with MATC) that varies the magnetization and tx (i=1,2...

Elmer writes FE component equation rows automatically
Hi, Quickly looking at your circuits, they seem mostly fine, but there is one critical problem: When the circuit equations are written, one must avoid defining equations to the component rows. This is because Elmer defines the component rows automatically to the voltage variable row of each componen...

Re: CircuitsAndDynamics
Hi all, At this moment I use FEMM, but I miss the dynamics. Before doing a large investment into Elmer, I would like do do some experiments (2D). I have attached the first one. It only consists of one square iron bar of 10x10 mm (cross-sectional area 100 mm^2) and a length of 1 m. This bar is conne...

ctest Multiple labels
Hello, I report here a simple solution to a problem that has been discussed here http://cmake.3232098.n2.nabble.com/Running-test-who-have-two-labels-td7595208.html. The problem is: how to run ctest with multiple labels? At the moment this is surprisingly difficult. One needs to use regex. The aforem...
Vim: ElmerFEM Solver Input File Syntax highlighting
Hello Elmer users,
I have set up a repository for vim-elmer plugin.
It has some nice features:
- syntax highlighting
- code folding
- Custom Elmer installation Keyword fetching (ELMER_HOME environment variable needs to be set)
See the attached image

Re: Heat gap boundary condition with unstructured meshes
Sorry, misunderstood Peter's post. Also, in the HeatGap example there seem to be a contact between two bodies (Why is this, Peter?). In Salome, there are several techniques that might give you the correct mesh for this. However, I'm not 100% sure what is needed for the heat gap. As I understand it, ...

Re: Heat gap boundary condition with unstructured meshes
I didnt quite understand why this happens. Could you share a geometry where this can be reproduced? For example a salome hdf file. Maybe it just need some small adjustment. Eelis Sure. A Salome .hdf file is attached. Thanks for the help. Scott As I thought: maybe the problem was that you tried to a...

Re: Heat gap boundary condition with unstructured meshes
Eelis, Thanks for the valuable insight - you have definitely clarified the process for me. Unfortunately, my first attempts with this process were unsuccessful. Seemingly regardless of the mesh type I start with, I receive the error below. ElmerGrid 2 2 testCHT -discont 4 produces the following err...

Re: Heat gap boundary condition with unstructured meshes
Hi Polakse, here you can find tests for most of the functionality in elmer: http://sourceforge.net/p/elmerfem/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/fem/tests/ There is a test also for heat gap: http://sourceforge.net/p/elmerfem/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/fem/tests/HeatGap/ when you have a look at the sif file (solver inpu...
