Re: Salome: Elmer-plugin available
I haven't used the newer SALOME versions as I cannot run them via Windows RDP on my simulation PC. Something about graphics drivers (OpenGL...). So I haven't had a look at the new GUI interface in Salome. @Peter About promoting the tool. I am aware of a similar approach in the FreeCAD community. I h...

Re: Salome: Elmer-plugin available
I'm currently not using it anymore. But if you need modifications, I could have another look at it.

Multigrid Preconditioning
Good morning, how is the multigrid preconditioning working? I am getting an error about missing grd-files, so I assume that Elmer does not create the coarser meshes itself. Is this a valid assumption? So, I have to create the meshes myself? How should I organize them in my file system (in folders)? ...

Re: Salome: Elmer-plugin available
There is a minor update available. Multigrid solver settings will now be written to the sif-file.

Re: Turbulent Flow Simulations with Elmer - A Request
Hello, may I ask if there is any progress on this topic? Right now, I have exactly this use case: a complex mesh that relies on prims (due to extrusion) and turbulent flow. Right now I am getting the "706 bubbles not implemented" error (even if I switch off stabilization in the k-solver). ...

Choosing the best iterative method / Achieve convergence
I usually use iterative methods to solve my FEM-problems. Not only because I lack the math libraries for direct solvers, but also because you can run iterative methods easily on multiple cores. However, finding the right solver settings is often more trial and error than actual knowing. Especially, ...

Re: Salome: Elmer-plugin available
Thanks for the reply. There is an error during import and I have already checked the source and fixed it (hopefully).
Please download a new copy of the module and paste it in the directory. I have tested the new version on my machine and the module appears correctly.
Regards,
Rainer

Re: Salome: Elmer-plugin available
If you use the default directory then you do not have to add the system variable. So you may delete the entry. It could be possible that Salome gets confused by that. Additionally, you can check the terminal windows that appears when starting Salome for error messages. Sometimes the module is not lo...
