Re: MagnetoDynamics: Source current with StaticConduction, jfix

Excellent! thanks a lot Mika for the exhaustive and clear explanation and of course for the fix!!

I didn't see this before now. Due to lack of time, haven't been to the forum since a long time....

Re: Vector valued User Function

Hi,

I just remembered this question which I posted on holiday season and maybe not many people saw it.

Thus, I lift this up again since now I would like to get rid of the hack that I used before...

Could some one pick up this question?

Cheers,

ParticleHeating test case not writing particle weight

Hello,

when I run ParticleHeating test case and try to save in vtu file format the particle weight is not saved. However, when the legacy vtk format is used it works.

Re: Linear Elasticity: Normal Force depending on displacement?

Thanks Peter! It seems that in the ElasticSolver only tetraeders and octaeders are available. Are there any richer basis functions for those than linear ones? Is there any way to use the LinearElasticity with the correct orientation of normal force? Or what is the easiest way (since there always is ...

Linear Elasticity: Normal Force depending on displacement?

Hi Guys, I'm wondering whether the "normal force" changes due to the displacements in the linear elasticity solver? For example if one analyzes the effect of hydrostatic pressure on mechanical structures, it is important to know (in case of big displacements, one might get wrong result). B...

Re: Possible to call solvers in c++ code?

Hi Alok, do you have some particular reason (other than evilness  ) to cut out the "middle man"? If I remember correctly, in ElmerGUI, the running of ElmerSolver is done with some QProcess stuff which I think is quite similar to your current code architechture. So I don't see a proble...

Re: Eddy current power losses in 3D

Hi Millim,

what you need is the harmonic analysis and the so called "surface impedance" boundary condition.

At the moment it does not exist in Elmer. However, it is quite easy to implement.

Re: Need Help with ElasticSolve problem

Hi Alok, try this Displacement 2 = Variable time Real MATC "10*tx" where "tx" is the representative of "Variable time". This is the convention used in sif, don't ask me why it is "tx". If you have several variables, then you will have "tx(0)", "...
