About month ago I made unofficial PPA with daily builds for Elmer project:
https://launchpad.net/~tehnick/+archive/elmerfem
http://tehnick.github.io/elmer/
Only packages for Ubuntu >= 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) are supported.
Hope it will be useful for someone.
