Re: FSI coupling

I'm testing the B.SIF file, Do you think the results will be different from A.SIF file?

B takes too long to converge, so I think it will take too long to compare with A.

Re: FSI coupling

Thank you peter , it's clear now.

I'm comparing the result of Comsol and Elmer, but it's not perfect yet.

How can I fix my sif file to get better results?

Re: FSI coupling

Thank you Peter. But I don't know what you mean by "strong coupling" and "the system as a monolithic one". Some definitions, the way I understand them: Single-way coupling : The structure is deformed, and the deformation is applied to the fluid as boundary condition. No iteration...

FSI coupling

I am trying to utilize the block solver to couple the Helmholtz and StressSolver for an FSI problem as demonstrated in the group of tests/ShoeboxFSI group of test cases. I have two questions. This test case was introduced as strong FSI coupling, does this mean two-way coupling(or fully coupling)? Is...

kevinarden wrote: 26 Jul 2022, 11:39 You can use task manage, performance tab to monitor memory usage during the run, to see if it really is a memory error.
If it is not a memory error, what should I do?

Re: Linear elasticity

I successfully installed Ubuntu, and solved it using mumps(use 4.67k mesh). And when it was time to run the solver (after I generated the command file and saved the project) I came across the following in the solver log: Geometry input file(s) not copied Saving menu contents... Ready Solver emitted ...

Re: Linear elasticity

Hi, Thank you for your reply and sorry for my late response. I tried iterative methods ( BiCGStabl, GCR, Block solver etc), But it didn't converge or got incorrect results. When I used banded, I didn't get a satisfactory result either. I'm running under Windows(8GB machine). Is there any way to run ...

Re: Linear elasticity

Hi kevinarden,

I'm still triyng to compile MUMPS. I think it's not that easy:(

And i used umfpack on 128GB machine, it was still out of memory. But I don't think it's not enough.

Does Elmer have any options for memory control?
