Re: CoilSolver + MgDynamic solver

Hi, did you check your material parameters? Should electric conductivity be one? -Peter Hello Mr.Peter, Oh yes! Thank you. I had set arbitary values for some of the material properties and it completely slipped my mind. I was more focused on the solver running for the plunger!. I will rectify it im...

Re: CoilSolver + MgDynamic solver

The "row equilibriation" seems to be a mixed bag. Maybe you could try without that. Also, have you inspected visially that your coil current looks ok. You could easily get totally wrong current just with wrong coil normal. BR, Peter Hello Mr.Peter , Your suggestion to turn off the "R...

I tried it on both Windows and Linux(Ubuntu), and got divergence issue on both.

Re: CoilSolver + MgDynamic solver

I do not know of anything outside Elmer that would cause the difference unless you are using 32 bit perhaps. Our log looks the same until the iterations start, then the numbers start deviating by iteration 8. Your version is 4 months older than mine, maybe there were code changes. Yours (compiled O...

MAIN: ------------------------------------- MAIN: Reading Model: case.sif LoadInputFile: Scanning input file: case.sif Did you replace case.sif with ycase.sif? If there is an ELMERSOLVER_SSTARTINFO file ElmerSolver command by itself runs the sif in that file. To run a specific sif the command is El...

Re: CoilSolver + MgDynamic solver

Hi Mandeep, Do you have any boundary conditions for "AV {e}"? -Peter Hello Mr.Peter, Yes I have the BCs for the 'AV e' on the Farfield bounday, these are the components of magnetic vector potentials on the element edge right? The .sif file with BC: case.sif Header CHECK KEYWORDS Warn Mesh...

Re: CoilSolver + MgDynamic solver

This sif allowed it to converge with the body force on, and there is a magnetic force, however the current density is still zero, but all of the other variables have values. ycase.sif magfield.png Hello kevinarden, I tried running the simulation with the given .sif file but my simulation diverged. ...

Re: CoilSolver + MgDynamic solver

Hi, The "component" was created for cases when there are several coils. Even more generally it turned out to be useful to define set of bodies to be associated to component. No need for it if you have just one coil. -Peter But since we keep different bodies why are separate components req...

Re: CoilSolver + MgDynamic solver

Hello kevinarden, I tried running the simulation with the given .sif file but my simulation diverged. Are there any setting that needs to be set outside of the .sif file?. Can you please have a look at my solver log. Solver log: ELMER SOLVER (v 9.0) STARTED AT: 2021/03/07 20:50:38 ParCommInit: Initi...

I will try it out and report back. I have a question as to why we have to use a 'component'...
