Re: Coaxial wave guide

yes it is

something = Variable of something
Real
0 10000
600 10000
601 0
1200 0
End

example
Heat Flux = Variable Time
Real
0 10000
600 10000
601 0
1200 0
End

Re: Thermal exchange problem

what specifically is the compile date on your version, I update mine regularly because changes happen daily.

I have a windows machine I can go test out my windows installation.

Re: Thermal exchange problem

step 20 your mesh your sif, no negatives, did you actually interrogate the values? Maybe it is a paraview issue?

Re: Thermal exchange problem

Your mesh is OK. I used your mesh and your sif but I did not get a negative. twocube.png I am using Version: 9.0 (Rev: 6c7258f65, Compiled: 2024-07-13) on a linux mint I noted that your cube is 200x200x200, the units in elmer is generally SI if you use the constants provided, so length is meters. Yo...

I did it the same way, if you can post your mesh I can check it out.

Re: Thermal exchange problem

I used your sif file as is, but built my own mesh out of quads then tets. The quads and tets have a slightly different response, but no negative values.

Re: Magnetron consists of a cylindrical magnet inserted into a ring magnet

Mesh quality will be important. The geo posted did not make a nice mesh. The chamfers on the edges of the magnets make it harder to mesh, if that feature can be suppressed in the cad model meshing will be easier. Fine details are often left out if they don't significantly impact the results. To make...

Re: set current density

I do not get convergence on the 3D model and it reports element issues. I suspect the difference is mesh quality. 3D meshing is harder.
