Hi Matthis.
I f you look at MySif file you can see the scaling 0.001 and the Picture: My Beam.jpeg
show the dimensions is m.
The figures is wrong the correct is 0.065 m or if the scaling is missing 65 mm or 6.5 cm.

Re: Simpel one end fixed beam force in other end
Hi Matthias. Thank you for your time. Summery shows a big difference in amount of nodes ect. How to judge in the situation with a new task, the needed amount of nodes ect ? My Beam Summery.zip . I am new and used this toturial to get a feeling with ELMER because textbook exsamples from UNI is at han...

Re: Simpel one end fixed beam force in other end
Loaded Beam Oldbelt.zip Hej Matthias. I have run the beam with my beam and Toturial3D beam. The results is in the Zip file. Comparing SIF show no difference. Comparing VTU shows great differences. The scren dumps show the correct textbook result from toturial 3D beam. I think it's something about t...

Re: Simpel one end fixed beam force in other end
Hi Matthias. I have downloaded the tutorial 3Dbeam. and got the right result a deflection at 0.065m. It isn't a matter of scaling because check of dimensions can be done in paraview, I had m. as dimension. It seams to be a matter of meshing, my design out of my CAD was meshed with triangles, the res...

Re: Displacement and tensions value in a elastic beam
Vespa
Your Formula is faulty :
<Displacement_y = Force * length^3 / (8 * Youngs_Modulus * I)>
You divide with 8 it should be 3
Displacement_y = Force * length^3 / (3 * Youngs_Modulus * I)
Multiplying your result : 8/3 gives the 0.064m.

Re: Simpel one end fixed beam force in other end
Hej Matthias. Tank you for your reply. My CAD model is in m. My CAD export to .stp is set to m. You are righ the meshed Beam loaded into Paraview is in mm. I thought this faulure was corrected since the former edition of Elmer. Setting the scale to 0.001 gives still a wrong result, insted af 8.2 m a...

Re: How to install
I have Paraview runnung and try it out with a simple beam 1m x 0.1m x 0.05 m just as the tutorial no 3. I made the beam in Alibre as I have done severel times with the old Elmer. Output a .stl file. I follow the set up from the toturial no 3. It's a beam fully constrained in one end. I get a non use...
