### Re: How to specify current direction for a 3D rod with turns

Hi, Thanks everyone. I can change the current, but when I set the current to zero immediately, it's still flowing based on its previous value. When I set the boundary AV variables, the current flow is exactly what I want, but the magnetic field is felt only on the boundaries. I'll attach the current...

### Re: How to specify current direction for a 3D rod that with turns

Hi Guys, Thanks for your reply. I still couldn't change current density with respect to time. I also tried with co-ordinate scaling 1. [1] Using Body Force: Body Force 1 Name="current density" Current Density 1 = Variable time Real MATC "1+sin(0.2*tx)" ! Current Density = 1e8 Current Density 2 = 0 C...

### How to specify current direction for a 3D rod that with turns

For MGDynamics Solver under body force section, there are three current density components in x,y and z. Current Density 1, Current Density 2 and Current Density 3 For current in z direction for a straight rod Current Density 1 = 0 Current Density 2 = 0 Current Density 3 = 1e3 untitled.geo How to sp...

### Re: Inductance extraction for parallel wires

Hi Peter, I'm using Cent OS 7. I tried with real values too and I'm attaching a txt file with three test-cases for 1 A/mm^2 , 2 A/mm^2, 3 A/mm^2. As I said before Inductance is consistent for 1A, 2A but not 3A. test_case.txt ---------------------------------------------------------------------------...

### Re: Inductance extraction for parallel wires

Hi, I'm getting consistent inductance values for different current densities. However, this happens only if the current densities are powers of 2(J = 1, 2, 4, 8, etc.,). I'm not getting consistent inductance values when J= 1.1, 3, 6 etc., ( E= 0.5*L*(I*I) => L= (2*E)/(I*I) ) I'm attaching my sif fil...

### Current Density components in Body Force Section

Code: Select all

``````Body Force
Current Density 1
Current Density 2
Current Density 3
end``````
What does 1,2,3 mean. How do i change these components if I want to input
current density as 2 nA/units*units .
