Re: Simulation of the force between two magnets

HI all, I think found my mistake. Here the solution if any other newbie runs into the same pitfall: When i installed the newest version from here: http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics/elmer/bin/windows-test/ I forgot to add elmer to the system path during the setup (see yellow highlights in scree...

Re: Simulation of the force between two magnets

Hi Peter, thank you very much for providing MagneticForceCylindricalBodies.tar.gz I tried to run it with the described steps in the readme-file but get the following error below. I run elmer on windows 10. Does anybody know where I have to start to fix this problem? Thank you in advance for any hint...

Hi,

I am have the same problem.

Is there a working solution so far?

What are other possibilities to get convergence in the current solver?

magnetic field of a straight wire due to static current

Dear Elmer-community, I am facing a problem which is very close related to the test case which can be found here: https://github.com/ElmerCSC/elmerfem/tree/devel/fem/tests/mgdyn_steady_wire In fact, it is the same test except for the fact, that I use a different meshed geometry. I want to compare th...

Re: Extract simulations results at specific points

Hi Matthias, thank you very much for your fast response. I was trying the second approach to use Gmsh (by converting the mesh data with ElmerGrid 2 4 mesh) I found some instruction how to display the node coordinates here: http://onelab.info/pipermail/gmsh/2017/011242.html Use the Plugin NewView to ...

Re: Extract simulations results at specific points

Hi, I have a problem how to figure out the coordinates of the geometries  E.G. the example \fem\tests\mgdyn_steady_wire there is the line in the sif file: Polyline Coordinates(2,3) = -5.0e-3 0.0 5.0e-3 5.0e-3 0.0 5.0e-3 But how do I get to know these coordinates of the provided wire.grd geomet...

Re: Elmer crash when clicking on boundaries

Hi, Thank you very much for this nice workaround! As much as I would like to be the one unfortunately, as so far, I am not this C++ hero we are looking for because my skills are only limited in this field... But things can always change... or hope dies last that there will rise one C++ hero who will...
