Harmonic magnetic field
Hello, I am trying to simulate the magnetic field around a looped conductor. I´ve already done this simulation using the StatCurrent and WhitneyAV solver. The results all match up with the theoretical values. Now I want to simulate the magnetic coupling between two conductor loops. To get a current ...

Re: StatCurrentSolve non realistic results
Hello, just a little Update: The solver produces the correct result, it just converges very slowly. (It took me 280 Iterations) The resistance now matches to 0.5% with the measurements. The volume current distribution is also correct. Obviously the circumference is smaller on the inside of the spira...

StatCurrentSolve non realistic results
Hello, I would like to use the Static Current Solver for calculating the current in a flat coil. (These results will be used for further magnetics calculations) I´ve created a mesh of the coil with salome. The geometry was meshed with hex volumes. I tried to do a simple simulation of the current in ...

Re: Capacitance of a Coil
Hi, thank you for the explanation! Based on this, I think I will calculate the capacitance from the energy of the e-field. The solver log also shows a capacitance value: StatElecSolve: Tot. Electric Energy : 1.3217299626738402E-012 StatElecSolve: Capacitance : 2.7699787741689149E-012 StatElecSolve: ...

Capacitance of a Coil
Hello, I am trying to simulate the capacitance of a coil. Specifically I want to calculate the capacitance between the windings of the coil. As it seems I have several options to do this. The fist option would be to cut up the geometry, and simulate just the capacitance of a single winding. With thi...

Re: magnetic field induced by harmonic current in a wire
Hi,
I will post the sif file in an few hours.
Can you tell me where to find the complete files for this tutorial?
I've downloaded the .zip with the GUItutorials from csc, and also searched on GitHub, but I could find the .sif file for this specific tutorial.

Re: magnetic field induced by harmonic current in a wire
Hi, I`ve got some problems with this tutorial too, although I can´t even get any results out of the Solver. I am using Elmer on a Windows 10 machine. I´ve tried to reproduce this tutorial step by step using Elmer 8.2, and the latest Elmer 8.3 version. Just by reproducing the tutorial I get the Error...
