Mesh Update

Hi,

i would like to apply a mesh update on a specific boundary, the sif-file is attached.

I get this message:
ERROR:: ListGetReal: Can't find independent variable:[mesh velocity 1]for dependent variable:[velocity 1]
Why? I don't get it... :?:
Maybe somebody can help!

Re: Mesh-Update Solver for curved boundaries

Hi Peter, thank you for your reply. I attached a little pdf with a possible case problem for a curved boundary. I would like to widen the raduis by using the Mesh-Update Solver. For example, is there a option to committe both coordinates, not just one. How do I use the normal -tangential coordinates...

Mesh-Update Solver for curved boundaries

Hi, I would like to know wheater it is possible to use the "Mesh_Update" Solver for curved boundaries. I did successfully use the Sovler to Update a region by applying specific boundary condition, i.e. defining the Solver like Solver 2 Equation = Mesh Update Variable = -dofs 2 Mesh Update ...

Renumbering Elements

Hello, after translating my mesh with ElmerGrid , I get this information: Allocating for 35151 knots and 34570 4-node elements. There are 1312 boundary nodes, thus allocating 2624 elements Loading elements of type 404 starting from element 0. The mesh was loaded from file fluid_mit_rechteck_net_so_f...

Re: No convergence for a simple fluid problem

Hi Peter,

the attached pdf shows you the geometry. The *.log File shows you the ouput of Elmer .

What do you think of the modified Fortran function. Does it look right to you?

No convergence for a simple fluid problem

Hello, I would like to compute a simple fluid-problem. The attached pdf shows the the mesh, the numbering of the boundaries and the inflow-function. For the Inflow, the velocity is assumed to be parabolic, with a v_max = 3,33 at y=20. The inflow-function is defined as: FUNCTION InFlow( Model, n, x )...

Shear Stress at nodes

Hi, is there a possiblity to get shear stresses at all boundary nodes? Or to get he hole traction vector for an element? By using the "SaveLine" Module, I only get the pressure at the nodes. By using the "Fluid Force" Module, I get the shear-stress at the midpoint of an element. ...

Problems Restarting Elmer

Hi, I have a question about the Module"ReloadData". I try to compute a flow around the block. First I computed a solution for time t=5. To understand the "ReloadData" Module, I computed a new solution at time t=2.5. Then I started another computation, but this time using the &quo...

Restart & Mesh-Update

Hi Elmer-Team, I have a question about the Restart-Solver. As an example I chose a domain with a cut out block (see attachement). On the left side of the block I applied a mesh-update boundary condition and ran the simulation. In a second step I wanted to restart the previous computed soluiton, i.e....

Re: Problems Converting .inp file into .mesh file

Hi Peter,

so I looked at my model an a found some bugs. So I will corret them and try it again.
Maybe it´ll work. If not, I post again.

If you go on holiday, have a nice time!! :-)
