Re: Electrostatics XML

Hello, To answer your original question, the xml creates a combo drop box with two entries, None, and Computed. None is the default for the solver. Selecting Computed tells the sif generator to add a line 'Electric Field = Computed' to the Equation section of the sif file. The solver then will obey ...

Re: ElmerGUI tutorials updated - user input requested

Hello, Adding new edf XML menu files for use with ElmerGUI requires knowing the solver related keywords. The following forum thread discusses how to find keywords. http://www.elmerfem.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7657 Note the official list of keywords used by ElmerSolver is named 'SOLVER.KEYWORDS' and...

Hello, One more iteration, this time a plain command line approach. Re: Parallel Mesh Causing Error

Hello, To be sure we had an up to date project, I recreated the elmergui project from scratch, using the tutorial instructions step by step. Then using the default parallel settings, just click on the box for 'use parallel solver' and change the number of processors to 4. This time the project ran a...

Re: Parallel Mesh Causing Error

Hello, So I tried running the attached project in parallel, and there is something wrong. This case used to work, about a year ago. Here's the first error, from elmersolverlog.txt: job aborted: [ranks] message [0] process exited without calling finalize [1-3] terminated ---- error analysis ----- [0]...

Re: ElmerGUI tutorials updated - user input requested

Hello, Adding new edf XML menus to ElmerGUI is always a desirable goal. Documentation on how to create/edit new edf menus hasn't been written up, at least not recently. Here's a link to what could be the start of a document: https://github.com/ElmerCSC/elmerfem/pull/272 Hope this helps a bit. Rich.

Re: Parallel Mesh Causing Error

Hello, The ElmerGUI manual, ch 7, shows how to setup a parallel run. This particular chapter is a bit older. There's a newer set of instructions in GetStartedElmer.pdf, chapter 8. Please run through your example again with the newer instructions, and let us know what happens. Also in GetStartedElmer...
