Getting different results when running on Windows and Linux
I am simulating electromagnetic waves through a waveguide that employs the VectorHelmHoltz solver and I am getting different results when I run it on Windows versus when its run on Linux. I have the latest version of both but these versions are different, that is the windows version is older but the...

Anyone have any ideas? I am still stuck on this problem! ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Insertion loss calculation within a waveguide
Is it possible to calculate the insertion loss from the enegy functional value or some other way? This is assuming that there is energy loss within the waveguide. I am using the VectorHelmholtz module to model wave propagation in a waveguide and in the tutorial it calculated the input return loss fr...

Re: Imaginary Magnetic Boundary Load BC - VectorHelmHoltz solver
Ok it works now! Apparently there was a previous version of Elmer installed and when calling ElmerSolver it would reference to this (old version) instead of the recent one I compiled.
Thanks for your help!![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Re: Imaginary Magnetic Boundary Load BC - VectorHelmHoltz solver
Yes, I am using the latest version from the following link: https://github.com/ElmerCSC/elmerfem
I tried compiling from source again but there still isn't a change in the energy functional values and it still says the compilation date as being in 2016!

Re: Imaginary Magnetic Boundary Load BC - VectorHelmHoltz solver
Hi, I compiled Elmer from source on Linux with the most recent update and I am still not seeing a change! I have the following output files below, and as you can see they are identical. The first is without an imaginary part for the Magnetic Boundary load: ELMER SOLVER (v 8.2) STARTED AT: 2017/01/24...

Re: Imaginary Magnetic Boundary Load BC - VectorHelmHoltz solver
Thanks Matthias, I'll read through the files, I've attached a case for a simplified version that essentially does the same thing incase anyone wants to try. I just gave a random non-zero value to the 'Magnetic Boundary Load im' but you can comment it out and notice that it won't make a difference to...

Re: ElmerGrid / MATC bug ?
ok thanks for responding, I guess your version had matc compiled within ElmerGrid already if you didn't receive the error. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
