Re: Calculation of self and mutual inductance for PMSM machines?

Hello FabianH, My initial goal is to calculate the machine parameters for a linear machine model in the dq frame. For that I need ke (speed constant), R-phase resistance and Ld /Lq inductances. The first two I could calculate using Elmer and geometry data. I am currently investigating how I can use ...

Hi FabianH,

thanks for pointing that out. Here the missing circuit.definitions.

Re: Calculation of self and mutual inductance for PMSM machines?

Hello Peter, it would be great if this feature could be added to the library soon. I think with this implemented, Elmer could be effecively used to generate machine parameters required for the circuit simulators, such as Matlab or Modelica. Connected with this topic, I have shared the the working ca...

Re: Induced voltage in PMSM without Paraview

Hello, several people asked me if I could share the project used to calculate the induced voltage (PMSM) of the 3 phase pmsm machine without paraview. This would not be possible for me without this forum and the documentation on PMSM by Pavel. Fieldplot: field_plot.png Induced voltage @ 1000rpm indu...

Re: Calculation of self and mutual inductance for PMSM machines?

Hello, here are some more inputs. In order to understand how the calculation of inductances in Maxwell works I have run two simulations for the motor shown in Fig 1. The first simulation represents the so-called no-load simulation, where I calculated the self and mutual inductances of phase A (LAA, ...

Calculation of self and mutual inductance for PMSM machines?

Hello, is there a way to calculate self and mutual inductances and flux-linkages in a 3-phase PMSM machines using elmers transient 2D electromagnetic solver? In my previous post I was able, with the help of the forum, to calculate induced voltage using circuits modul (see: Induced voltage in PMSM wi...

Re: Frozen Permeability in Magnetostatic possible?

As far as I am informed the "Frozen Permeability" method is used in Ansys Maxwell to calulate self and mutual inductances. This is connected to my other question on this forum on "Calculation of self and mutual inductance for PMSM machines".

Calculation of self and mutual inductance for PMSM machines

Hello,

is there a way to calculate self and mutual inductances and flux-linkages in a 3-phase PMSM machines using elmer? In my previous post I was able, with the help of the forum, to calculate induced voltage using circuits modul (see: Induced voltage in PMSM without Paraview).

Re: Voltage Step Response 2D Magnetic Circuit

I've checked the results again, with and without specifying the electrode area and the results, including the current density, are the same. I have also found this explanation in Emler Models Manual: Electrode Area Real area If the coil type is stranded and resistance is not explicitly given, then t...
