Debian removal of Qt4 in Bullseye and beyond

Hi all, OS Debian Bullseye (testing) with some Sid (unstable) packages installed. KDE desktop AMD-64 system - 4processors 16 GB ram I have been trying to build elmer using the CmakeGUI and have been having configure errors. I traced this back to Elmer still using Qt4 in a lot of places. Please refer...

Re: Body Property confusion

Thanks for the reply. I have all of the up to date manuals. I just found the wording a bit confusing in the ElmerGUI manual. Your missives helped. I started with the manual instead of the tutorial because the type is bigger. At 83 I need all of the help I can get.

Body Property confusion

I am attempting to run the CarterPumpHousing problem from the ElmerGUI Manual. I am confused about the use of the "Body Property" that shows up in several of the model setup pages. What is the scope of Body Property 1 when setting the ambient temperature or when setting the Body Force? Could someone...

#error "This file was generated using the moc from 5.9.5. It"

What, do tell, does this mean and how do I fix it. I have managed to compile the latest version of Elmer with Contrib,ElmerGUI, LAU, MATC, MPI, mumps, OpenMP, Paraview, Trilinos, QWT and PythonQT. But as soon as I try to include VTK or OpenCascade the software configures and generates with CMakeGUI ...

Re: Invalid character errors(solved)

Thanks for the reply's. I solved the problem by completely stripping out the software and downloading a new zip file. This installation no longer has the problem. I must have gotten a transfer error. Seems to be a good reason for using check sums, although I am too lazy to do so most of the time. So...

Invalid character errors (Solved)

I downloaded the latest version of Elmerfem-dev from the Git repository and am trying to compile and link. I have stripped out all of the "With" statements using CMakeGUI. I then configured and generated the "MakeFile" with no errors. I then ran "make -j4" and got the following errors. /opt/elmerfem...

Re: Tetgen plugin

I agree that paraview is a good choice for post processing. Although some people seem to prefer Visit. I'm not so sure about the rest of the suggestions. After reading some papers on recent developments in triangulation methods and specifically, hard to mesh shapes, I have come to the conclusion tha...
