Re: vtu file opacity (SOLVED)

I search some other forums and they relate the issue to graphic card drivers.
I had not had any issue before, but it seems that the problems resides there.
I have tested the file in another computer and opacity is set correctly.

Re: vtu file opacity (SOLVED)

After running Elmer I get a vtu file that I open in Paraview. I plan to extract the different bodies and show some of them with a reduced opacity. However, when I set the a opacity value under 1 (100%) the image disappears. Do you know if I can set anything in Elmer or there is any filter in Paravie...

Re: Induction heating of a steel rebar whitin mortar/concrete

Hi all,
I could not make it. Even though I customize the induction2 example to my geometry and materials it does not converge. I suppose it should not be so different, but it fails.
Thank you anyway for pointing me the right way.

Re: Induction heating of a steel rebar whitin mortar/concrete

Hi, I downloaded the elmerfem test inductionheating2, but it uses "StatMagSolve" that according to the Models Manual is obsolete. Should I change it for MgDyn2DHarmonic? And then I suppose that MagDyn2DPost is also necessary since it is there where I can activate "Calculate Joule heat...

Re: Induction heating of a steel rebar whitin mortar/concrete

Hi Kevin, Thank you for the hint. The idea is to heat only the steel rebar through induction heating. I though it was sufficient using MgDyn2DHarmonic solver and checking the Joule Heating. I also realize now that Joule Heating is not temperature (ºC) as I said, but power (W, W/m2 or W/m3?). I do no...

Induction heating of a steel rebar whitin mortar/concrete

Hi, I am trying to simulate the axisymmetric induction heating of a rebar within mortar/concrete for multiple frequencies and rebar diameters (I attach my files). There is not need to be very accurate. I only want to check which range of temperatures can be obtained for each diameter and frequency. ...

Re: concrete flow

I installed Elmer from Ubuntu's repository (5.5.0.svn.4897.dfsg-1ubuntu1 in 11.04 natty). I do not know if it is the last version. And I remember that during the installation, I was asked to choose which solver were to be installed. I left the default ones, but do not know how can I install the rest...

Re: how to create a beam and solve with Elmer

Hi, I know I have not installed Salomé, but I recommend it. I start searching tools to simulate the behaviour of fibre reinforced self compacting concrete, and try quite a lot. As I am not an expert in FEM, I need something intuitive. You can create a beam and mesh it with Salomé and then export it ...

concrete flow

Hi, I would like to study how the flow of fresh self compacting concrete fills a formwork to build a wall. I am new in Elmer and I have done some successful models thanks to the tutorial, but I realized that in the model all the mesh is already concrete, I mean, the formwork is already filled and wh...
