Re: Conformal meshes from ANY cad program - a cry for help?!

Hello Michael, I'm glad you succeeded. But Salomé is a beast, so for those who don't want to use it, there's also NETGEN the external program. I've been able to define multi-body geometries in FreeCAD, save them in STEP format, import them in NETGEN, mesh them, export them in Elmer format, and use t...

Re: Installing in Ubuntu 11.10 - Oneiric Ocelot

I'm afraid opennovation.org is going to jump straight from Lucid Lynx to Precise Pangolin, the next LTS release. It's based on what I use on my desktop, because I haven't had as much time recently to keep things up to date on multiple Ubuntu versions. For newer Ubuntu releases, you might have better...

ElmerGUI feature request: multi-species advection-diffusion

It would be nice to use multiple species in AdvectionDiffusion via ElmerGUI. This has been an issue since I contributed its XML file: http://www.elmerfem.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=105&p=347 And in general this is consistent with a goal of having all of Elmer's capabilities exposed in the...

Can you just set "FFLAGS=-fPIC ./configure" in each command?

Re: Trouble reading in flux

Hold on: you're trying to use the heat flux as a convection velocity? How is this physically relevant/realistic?

ElmerGUI feature request: .sif file parser/importer

ElmerGUI does not have an exchangeable file format. But the .sif file seems to contain all of the information needed to define a simulation -- except for the mesh of course. So it seems like it would be a good idea to make a .sif file parser for ElmerGUI. The egproject.xml file doesn't work, as Elme...

Re: updating elmer in unbuntu 10.04 ( no opennovation.org )

I think ndrini probably ran into trouble because the opennovation.org version is only compiled for the amd64 (64-bit) platform. To get the source package, which you can build easily, see:

Re: take to install Debian

That depends a lot on the speed of your computer and network... I'd guess 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Re: Problem When Compile With OpenMPI+Hypre

Hello, I think you need a shared version of hypre. The Debian/Ubuntu hypre package has one, but it sounds like that doesn't help you...
